At 66, Tom Hanks Will Be Rejuvenated In ‘Forest Gump’ Director’s New Movie

Tom Hanks (“Elvis”) and Robin Wright (“Wonder Woman”), the memorable couple of “Forrest Gump” (1994), will resume their collaboration in a new film from the director of that film, Robert Zemeckis. Titled “Here”, the film is expected to be released in 2024.

The news doesn’t stop there. To play the roles, the two actors will be artificially rejuvenated with the help of an artificial intelligence program. The Metaphysic company, known for deepfaking Tom Cruise on Twitter, will handle the effects.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, the director explained: ‘I’ve always been drawn to technology that helps me tell a story and the film wouldn’t work without our actors seamlessly transforming into younger versions of themselves. metaphysics does just that, in ways that were previously impossible,” he commented.

Based on the 2014 graphic novel by Richard McGuire, the plot is entirely set in a fixed, narrow and determined place (a room, mostly at the top), and narrates the events that have occurred or will occur in that space over the years (from the Jurassic era to the distant future of the year 10,000).

The adaptation is handled by screenwriter Eric Roth, who also worked on “Forest Gump”, and the cast also includes Paul Bettany (“WandaVision”) and Kelly Reilly (“Yellowstone”).

In early December last year, actress Robin Wright posted a photo of the reunion of the team that will work on the production.

“Together again! We are preparing for ‘Here’, the film, which we start shooting in February. It’s a really interesting story. Set in a single room, we follow the many people who have lived there over the years and years, from the past to the future. Kind of an odyssey through time and memory. So happy to be working with all these wonderful people again!” the star wrote on her Instagram.
