Termo is a Portuguese version of ‘intrapreneur’, meaning in-house entrepreneur, i.e. promoting entrepreneurship within an already established organization
It is already common to say that the pandemic has brought many lessons, anticipated movements in the corporate environment and awakened the need to innovate every day. When did we imagine being able to carry out our activities from anywhere, at any time, supported by technology?
In this scenario, a highly topical issue stands out, driven by the changes, especially in attitudes, imposed on the corporate universe: entrepreneurship.
When a company offers the employee a working environment where he can also act as the owner of the company, seeding new ideas and contributing to the transformation, innovating and looking for new opportunities and options to make everything work better, it can be said that this company practices and encourages entrepreneurship.
The term is a Portuguese version of entrepreneur, which means internal entrepreneur, i.e. one who promotes entrepreneurship within an already established organization. Entrepreneurship awakens in the employee the freedom to seek novelties for the company, focusing on improving their area of expertise, without fear of generating ideas and sharing them with their superiors.
But, for entrepreneurship to be successful, it is not enough that the company is willing to offer the necessary conditions to its employees. These must also demonstrate important characteristics that define the entrepreneur’s profile: passion for what they do, knowledge of the market, creativity, audacity, discovery of new opportunities, tenacity, dedication, self-confidence and proactivity.
The whole environment is crucial for the emergence of entrepreneurship and at BB Seguridade we take this issue very seriously. In the last year, we have implemented several strategies brought daily by our employees, such as: we have created the “layer of protection” for our customers, “gamified” the relationship through the “Jogo pra Vida” project, which was the embryo of our recently launched relationship programme. These and other actions have allowed us to increase the NPS, significantly reduce the number of complaints and, consequently, reduce the shake by customers.
How many entrepreneurs are there in our companies? Do we know how to identify and encourage them, bringing out the best in each one? Do employees consider themselves to have the intrinsic characteristics of an entrepreneur? If you have the necessary conditions to fully carry out the entrepreneurial activity, regardless of which side of the table you are on, take advantage of this opportunity and fly high!/Ulisses Assis is president of BB Seguridade
