A great tribute to the universe created by Nintendo.
Super Mario will have an animated movie next year. The film will be based on Nintendo’s Super Mario Bros. video game franchise. It is produced by Shigeru Miyamoto, creator of the license, and will be produced and animated by Illumination Entertainment, the studio with which we have met the Minions, among many other stories.
The new animated story has created a lot of expectation, and more taking into account fans around the world.
‘Super Mario Bros: The Movie’, Cast
Actor Chris Pratt lends his voice to the iconic Nintendo character in the original version, though what the project will look like and what the actors will sound like so far has been kept under wraps to this day. Pratt recently teased what his voice for the famous plumber would be like, revealing that it will be different from what everyone expects. “I worked very closely with the directors and tried a few things and came up with something that I’m very proud of and can’t wait for people to see and hear.” Pratt told Variety. “It’s animated voiceover narration. It is not a live action movie. I’m not wearing plumber’s overalls running all over the place. I’m providing a voice for an animated character, and it’s up to date and unlike anything you’ve seen and heard in the world of Mario before.”
Along with Pratt, the film will also feature the voice of Anya Taylor-Joy for Princess Peach, Charlie Day will be Luigi and Seth Rogen will do the same with Donkey Kong.
However, Pratt’s casting has sparked some controversy, although producer Chris Meledandri has defended the choice of the ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ actor: “As a person who is of Italian-American descent, I feel I can make that decision without offending the public. Italians or Italian-Americans,” he said earlier this year. “I think we’re going to be okay. Especially since (Pratt) had a very solid performance.”

‘Super Mario Bros: The Movie’, Trailer
The first footage, which premiered in October at New York Comic-Con and was introduced by Nintendo boss Shigeru Miyamoto, confirmed that the film will be called ‘The Super Mario Bros. Movie’, translated here as ‘Super Mario Bros. Mario Bros: The Movie’.
In that first clip we saw the presentation of Bowser, the villain that Jack Black gives voice to in the original version.. He leads an army of Koopas to invade the Snow Kingdom. After this attack we go to see Mario’s cut coming into this world. Here he meets Toad (Keegan-Michael Key) for the first time, and they set off for an adventure. Here you can see it:
Now, a new preview has arrived in which he introduces us to Peach, Luigi or Donkey Kong in more detail. Here the story of the film is further developed, which will follow the dynamics of the Super Mario video games. Mushrooms, alliances, tests, races… All in a universe full of color and antagonistic to the threat posed by the evil Bowser.
You can see the new advance at the beginning of this news.
