The ‘Yellowjackets’ actress Melanie Lynskey has responded on Twitter to the body-shaming she is suffering after her appearance in ‘The Last of Us’.
Episode 1×04 of ‘The Last of Us’ has served to introduce a new character that did not exist in the video game (take a look at all the differences between the video game and the series ‘The Last of Us’), but it seems very important for the future of Joel and Ellie.
Kathleen has revealed herself as the leader of the Huntersa group of survivors who have taken control of the Kansas City quarantine zone after confronting Phaedra and emerging victorious. The actress of ‘Yellowjackets’ Melanie Lynskey is chosen to put voice and face to this relentless looter, of whom we have already said that he does not doubt for a second if he has to murder in cold blood to achieve his goals.
However, and despite such a powerful presentation, the actress has received a multitude of critical comments on social networks from the most toxic fandom of the series. The same, surely, that has bombarded episode 1×03 of ‘The Last of Us’ with negative ratings, the best of the year to date, just because of the sexual orientation of its protagonists. And it is that the complaints of these viewers are not because of the interpretive quality of Lynskey or because her character has been created from scratch. What bothers them is Kathleen’s physical appearance..
The tweet that broke the camel’s back was @adriannecurrywhich is defined in his bio as “Top Model, Geek Queen and Tolkien Enthusiast” (to which we might add “QAnon conspiracy, anti-woke and anti-vaccination“, reading his wall of posts). Curry already ranted against the first episode of the series for “the absurdity of having WOMEN as leaders in a post-apocalyptic world” (his justifications in the responses to tweet They are incredible), and now he has charged again against ‘The Last of Us’ criticizing the physical form of Melanie Lynskey’s character, in a post that he has deleted from his account.
Firstly- this is a photo from my cover shoot for InStyle magazine, not a still from HBO’s The Last Of Us. And I’m playing a person who meticulously planned & executed an overthrow of FEDRA. I am supposed to be SMART, ma’am. I don’t need to be muscular. That’s what henchmen are for pic.twitter.com/YwkmkwUdOm

Curry posted a photo of the actress commenting “his body says ‘luxury life’, not ‘post-apocalyptic leader’. Where is Linda Hamilton when you need her?“
Lynskey did not hesitate to respond with a zasca that was heard even in Bill’s bunker:
“First of all, this is a photo from my cover shoot for InStyle magazine, not a still from HBO’s ‘The Last Of Us’. And I am playing a person who meticulously planned and executed an overthrow of Phaedra. I’m supposed to be SMART, ma’am. I don’t need to be muscular. That’s what minions are for.”
The reactions did not wait, with Jeffrey Pierce (PerryKathleen’s right-hand man in the series and thus one of the “minions” that Lynskey mentions) commenting “I’m there for it 100%“.
That’s 100% what I’m here for. pic.twitter.com/Zx3e4qaJ5d
