Netflix romantic comedy, My house or yours? plays Witherspoon and Kutcher and does its duty to entertain, but it doesn’t deliver a wonderful text.
Marked to arrive Netflix on February 10 the romantic comedy At your house or mine?, with Reese Witherspoon and Ashton Kutcher, pleases and does the duty to entertain. Written, directed and produced by Aline Brosh McKenna, the person responsible The devil wears Pradathe film doesn’t conquer like its predecessor, but it can be a good option to relax after a tiring day at work, or to enjoy the weekend with the family.
The story follows the lives of Debbie and Peter, two friends who met at a young age and had a sexual relationship. After that period, however, the two have not started a love story and have only become great friends, the ones who talk to each other every day, even if they live far away.
Debbie leads a quiet life in Los Angeles with Jack, her son who is allergic to various foods. Peter loves the hustle and bustle of New York, where he works as a marketing consultant. One day, however, he needs to travel to his friend’s city to take a course, and he ends up landing in Los Angeles to take care of the boy.
From there the story starts, developing a plot that doesn’t have so much comedy, so much romance to be a quality “romcom”, but which is light and funny, despite being predictable. While Peter has fun with Jack in Los Angeles and helps him make friends, Debbie enjoys the excitement of New York and falls for Theo (Jesse Williams), a handsome book publisher who asks her out on a date.

Here it is worth mentioning that all the characters perform their role well. Witherspoon and Kutcher work well individually, though as a couple they aren’t convincing, only appearing together romantically in the feature film’s final minutes. Jesse Williams, famous for his character in Grey’s Anatomylikes in the skin of the handsome conqueror flirting with the girl.
The highlight, however, are Zoë Chao and Tig Notaro, who have brought to life authentic and entertaining characters.

a predictable love story
Although (almost) all rom-coms have a predictable ending, in At your house or mine? this is pretty obvious. The problem occurs when nothing really new is added to the story and when the romantic scenes themselves leave something to be desired.
There is no flirting, no conquest, no charm, also because the protagonists are people who have known each other for some time. That way, there’s just a boring declaration of love, an even more boring kiss, and a tepid happy ending.

Another point that calls for attention is that although Kutcher has experience with comedy, since he starred in four seasons of Two men and a half, in the film it seems plastered over, as if waiting for a cue to create a comical situation. Leave what never comes.
Is Na Sua Casa or Na Minha worth watching?
Although it has text problems and a weak romance, the Netflix movie is worth playing to show a beautiful love story between friends that ends up becoming a passion. Another positive point is seeing Peter’s dynamic with Jack and the harmony they create.

As, At your house or mine? it may appeal to romantics and be a good option for those who want to relax and unwind, but not surprising for those expecting a passionate romance.
If you want to give it a chance At your house or mine?you can watch it on Netflix.
