the american singer Wool Del Rey released this Tuesday (14th) his unprecedented single UNW which will be an integral part of their next album Did you know there is a tunnel under Ocean Blvd. The album will be released by Universal Music, via Polydor records AND Interscope records in the day March 24th.
UNW written by Wool Del Rey in collaboration with Jack Antonoff. The singer, who became a worldwide hit with the song video gamestalked about the conception of his new album and how he chose the title, which he began composing from informal meetings with Mike Ermosaa cinematographer who is not a professional musician.
“The first song we wrote was ‘Did you know there’s a tunnel under Ocean Blvd.” I was spending a lot of time in Long Beach and had read that there is an enclosed tunnel under the Jergins Trust Building, with all the ceiling mosaics preserved.
No one can enter there. I was also listening a lot Harry Nilsson (1941-1994, cult songwriter, friend of John Lennon, known for the hit “Everybody’s Talkin'”), has this song called “Don’t Forget Me”. I liked the idea of putting that feeling together with the tunnel thing that’s so cool but walled up, and I knew right away that had to be the title of the album.”She said Wool.
