Opera in Germany fires the ballet director who attacked the journalist with feces


The case happened during the premiere of a show directed by Marco Goecke, which was met with criticism from the audience.

AFP – A Hanover Operain Germany rejected the ballet director who attacked a journalist with dog feces for criticizing him in a German vehicle, the institution announced on Thursday 16.

“A cooperation based on trust is no longer possible with Marco Goecke,” the establishment said in a statement. “An agreement has been reached between the two parties to terminate the ballet director’s contract with ‘immediate effect,'” he added.

On Tuesday 14, Goecke justified his reaction and said the journalist’s criticisms made him feel “personally attacked,” he told local public radio NDR. “The way I expressed myself was certainly not good,” he admitted, claiming that the criticism was “on the same level as a pile of faeces.”

The Carabinieri of Hanover are investigating the case, who confirmed through a spokeswoman AFP extension that a 57-year-old woman has filed a lawsuit over what happened.
