Linkin Park’s recent single “Lost” featuring vocals by Chester Bennington was excluded from the Meteora album
Linkin Park announced the 20th anniversary edition of the meteora (2003) and an unreleased track called “lost” with the vocals of Chester Benningtonwho died in 2017. The song was part of the archives at the time of the album’s production.
In a radio interview KROQ,Mike Shinoda explained how the track was recorded and why it was released 20 years later.
It’s a song that came so close to being on the album. The one on the other end of the line was this song ‘Lost’, and the only reason it didn’t come in is because it had the same intensity as ‘Numb’.
Apparently the track was forgotten to make way for the hit “Number” and upon being found, the band took advantage of the album’s 20th anniversary to show it to the public.
“[Encontrar a música nos arquivos da banda] it was like finding a photo you forgot you took, like it was waiting for the right moment to be developed,” said the guitarist Mike Shinoda (via NME).
