“People just want to stand on their own two feet. What’s the point of being good for you and millions of other people not being cool? I just want a fairer country, where people can have good conditions – like I didn’t have. What’s the problem?”

“I feel like Brazil is a little left out”

In 2022, before Jair Bolsonaro having been defeated in the elections for Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, Supplement made a series of criticisms against the now ex-president during an interview with the website The Fox. In his view, the PL politician was not ready to deal with the Covid-19 pandemic, a disease that killed more than 690,000 Brazilians.

“Unfortunately, what we are living is a very sad thing. Brazilian against Brazilian, I feel Brazil is a little left out. I think the incoming president had an opportunity, especially in the pandemic, which is when you can show that you’re there, that you’re strong, and not that you’re thinking it’s a little flu, but that it’s a serious thing.”

The artist also revealed that he had several opportunities to enter politics, due to his family and his popularity in music. Invitations always arrive during election periods, but he never accepts.

“I already do my politics the way I do. Maybe today it would be important, but I want to respond the way I do my politics, through music. I respond through music. So much so that I made the song ‘They want me to be a politician’, which was more to give a response, but I find it fascinating, because politics affects people’s minds. Once I was talking to my father about this and he told me: ‘what you already inspire from people, sending your messages, the things you think about in your songs, you are already helping a lot’.”
