Coldplay will tour Brazil for a long time in March, and the band Chvrches was in charge of the opening shows
The Scots of chvrches commented on expectations for the tour in Brazil starting in the second week of March. The indie pop band comes to the country as the opening act of Coldplayin addition to two solo performances, in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro.
The opportunity to perform in front of huge stadium audiences is added to the release of the single “Over.” In conversation with the NMEbassist and keyboardist Iain Cook asked: “No pressure! [Risos] We’ll have a little rehearsal before we start the shows and we’ll get the cobwebs off, get ready and just go.”
Lauren Mayberrylead singer of the group, commented on his own mood in concerts for so many people, as it will be in the Music of the Spheres Tour: “My mood varies a lot. One moment I’m really excited, then it sinks in and I start to shit myself. There’s a lot of pressure on everyone, but especially on those in front. Covering all that space and finding a way to communicate and connecting with space is a huge challenge.”
The invitation, according to the also keyboardist martin doherty, was an “incredible surprise.” The musician recalled meeting with Chris Martinvocalist of Coldplayin 2014, when he received valuable tips: “I found Chris at the festival Radio 1’s Big Weekend right after our first record came out. He was lovely, and I hinted at continuing the momentum and releasing the second record.”
