South African rapper Costa Titch passed out on stage, was rescued, but died shortly after aged 27 on Saturday 11. The musician sang at the Ultra Music Festivalin Johannesburg, South Africa.
The cause of death has not yet been disclosed. According to the agency Afp, the the police have opened an investigation into the sudden death at the concert.

Festival management released a statement on social media about the singer’s death: “We are devastated by the sudden loss of beloved South African artist Costa Titch who tragically passed away this weekend,” they wrote.
“Costa was a rousing voice, talented rapper, dancer, songwriter, festival collaborator and friend. Our deepest thoughts and sincerest condolences go out to his family, friends and our entire community mourning this heartbreaking loss.” , he adds.

A publication on Instagram of the rapper also mourns the loss: “Death has tragically knocked on our door. Robbing our beloved son, brother and nephew, Constantinos Tsobanoglou, who South Africa has come to love and idolize under his stage name ‘Costa Titch’ . and to all present in his last hours on this earth,” he says.
“As a family, we are going through a difficult time as we try to understand what happened to us and ask that we be given the time and space to come together. The Tsobanoglou family thanks you for the love and support you have given our son and may you continue to lift him up in spirit as well. Please keep us in your prayers and lift us up in the Lord.”
