BTS: Reunion in 2025 not sure, says HYBE boss

Bang Si-hyuk, founder of HYBE, even revealed that BTS members need to renew their contracts

the return of BTS seems not to be as sure as some of the public thought. The K-pop group took a break from work while members complete mandatory enlistment in the South Korean military and focus on solo projects. Expectation was that, in 2025, there would be the definitive meeting of the act.

Second Bang Si-hyukfounder of HYBE (agency responsible for BTS), the comeback still does not have a definite date. “We said that we hope everyone will come back in 2025, not that we will,” he said, according to the The Kpop Herald (via NME).

BTS and the company work for that, which does not mean that we will be able to reach the goal of returning in 2025,” he continued. In addition to factors beyond the agency’s control, contracts with artists need renewal, although there is still “time” before that win.

“We will discuss the contract renewal with the members at the right time. I believe that the right thing to do is to speak only when the conversations are over,” he stated.

The enlistment schedule was not previously revealed by Bang, as it is “private information. But once the dates are confirmed, we will be transparent about it.”
