The band released a self-titled album in 1996, while the Armas e Rosas was on hiatus. O Neurotic Outsiders performed weekly shows, on Mondays, at the Viper Room, in Los Angeles (United States). “I always tell kids, ‘When you’re starting out, try doing a residency.’ When you play on the same stage, every Monday for a month, every Friday for two months, you really start to adjust things. You play a show and you have seven days to reset, it keeps you going,” he said.

In a heartfelt tone, taylor continued: “I loved the idea… And, yes, we had guests playing songs from Pistols It is Duran. Iggy Pop sang with us, Billy Idol… it was fantastic. It was like the world to me, like God in my life.”

“At Duran, we set the bar very high. With Neurotics, Steve would come in and say ‘I’ve got this song, follow me!'”, he added, comparing the experiences in the two bands.
