Lollapalooza 2023: The electronic stage varies the DJs, but repeats the hits

Audiences who attended Perry’s heard the same snippets of famous songs every day of the festival

Several DJs and electronic music artists have performed at the Lollapalooza Brazil In 2023. Although everyone has their own musical style and repertoire, the public who went to the Interlagos Circuit or saw it on TV sometimes faced a certain lack of creativity.

Excerpts from classics such as blue mondayfrom New Order, Rhythm of the night, by Corona and Zombie Nation’s famous “Ôôôôô ôôôô ôôô ôô ôô” could be heard several times at different shows during the three days of the festival – sometimes, more than once in the same day. Remixes of songs by artists such as David Guetta, Calvin Harris, Avicii and Swedish House Mafia were also used extensively.

It is typical for the genre to use larger samples or excerpts of third-party songs. In some cases, however, it seems that the artists have felt ‘hostages’ of the same melodies to make the audience ‘explode’ or sing along. As long as viewers enjoy the weather, everything is fine.

The Lollapalooza Brasil lineup included names like Armin Van Buuren, Alison Wonderland, Purple Disco Machine, Jamie XX and Claptone, who performed on the dedicated style stage, Perry’s By Johnnie Walker Blonde. There were still Polo & Pan, Sofi Tukker and Skrillex (Drake’s last minute replacement) on the other stages of the festival.
