The legendary lead singer of Iron Maiden will perform in São Paulo this Friday
British rock singer Bruce Dickinsonknown for his work on iron maiden of the band, will conduct, on Friday 15th, the Concerto For Group And Orchestra, one of the greatest creations of the English musician Jon Lord (1941-2012). The presentation will take place at the Vibra São Paulo concert hall, in the south of the city.
He went to deep purplea band he founded in 1968, which Lord wrote, along with colleague Ian Gillan, of the show Concert for group and orchestraregistered in Royal Albert Hall, London, September 1969, together with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. The record was released in LP format and, at the time, was strangely received by audiences and critics. In 2012 the piece was recorded in the studio.
Concerto For Group And Orchestra was one of the first records to mix rock and orchestra. With only six tracks, the album has one composition, bearing the same name as the album, with just over 51 minutes running time.
In this presentation in Brazil, Dickinson will be accompanied by a band formed by John O’Hara (Jethro Tull) on keyboards, Tanya O’Callaghan (Whitesnake) on bass, Kaitner Z Doka (Jon Lord, Ian Paice) on guitar and Bernard Welz (Jon Lord, Don Airey) on drums.
On stage, the singer will also be accompanied by a symphony orchestra of over 80 instrumentalists, gathered especially for the occasion with members of the OSESP (São Paulo State Symphony Orchestra) and some of the country’s leading symphonies. The musicians will be directed by conductor Paul Mann.
In addition to São Paulo, Dickinson will perform the same show in Rio de Janeiro, Porto Alegre and Curitiba.
