Madonna’s “Like a Virgin” is also among the 25 Classic Pop Culture Records that have been inducted into the US Library of Congress.
The US Library of Congress, one of the largest in the United States, announced last Wednesday (12) the inclusion of 25 classic pop culture records in its collection. Among them is work ‘All I want for Christmas is you’ (1994), since Mariah Carey.

The new result has left the 54-year-old star honoured. Describing the honor as incredible, Mariah shared an excerpt from a video call between her and the director of communications at the Library of Congress, Roswell Encinaon Twitter, and wrote: “I am extremely honored! I definitely had no idea this was going to happen writing and recording this song! Thank you so much Ms. Hayden and @librarycongress.”

During the call, Carey said people ask her all the time if she ever imagined carol singing would become as popular as it has become. The singer says no and points out how rewarding it is. “This is important and very rewarding for me as an artist, as a songwriter, of course”, she said. “You can’t make it up.”
“I wasn’t sitting there writing lyrics like, ‘I’m going to beβ¦all these places and my songs are going to mean something to people every Christmas.’ I had no idea,” he continued. βI just wrote from my heart what I wanted, so thank you so much for including me in this amazing company and the whole situation.β
In addition to Mariah Carey’s Christmas classic, among the 25 records included in the National Recording Registry of the Library of Congress, works such as ‘like a virgin’ (1984), since Madonna, ‘Gas’ (2014), since Papa Yankee, “All Hail The Queen” (1989), debut album by Queen latifahAND ‘Sweet dreams are made of this)’ (1983), in duet euthymic. ‘Imagine’ (1971), from John Lennonhe also becomes part of the curatorship, which has a total of over 4 million works.
