Roger Waters banned from Frankfurt for anti-Semitism

Former member of pink Floydthe singer roger waters had a banned show in Frankfurt, Germany, and had to win in court to be able to perform the live performance in question. The information is from The Guardian.

The city council there banned the show from waters on tour This Is Not A Drill, which will take place next Friday, the 28th, as it is considered anti-Semitic. Even with the ban, the singer had stated that he would be in town anyway.

After roger waters contesting the decision, the Frankfurt administrative magistrates decided to allow the show. As The Guardian reported, some elements of the singer’s performances were considered “in poor taste,” with some symbolism inspired by the regime of Nazi Germany.

However, that same court decided to allow the realization to maintain the artistic freedom of waters. According to the magistrates, the show “does not glorify or relativize Nazi crimes, or identify with Nazi racist ideology.” It is worth noting that the city council of Frankfurt can still appeal the decision.
