At just 12 years old, Miguel successfully plays samba and pagodas in videos that go viral on social media.
“Hold that stone there,” Miguel Vicente says, all smiles, before starting to sing. A musical prodigy at just 12, he charmed the internet by posting videos of him playing samba and pagodas on his cavaquinho.
Born in Itaperuna, northwest of Rio de Janeiro, “Miguelzinho do Cavaco” has already attracted the attention of several artists thanks to his talent. Names such as Xande de Pilares, Sorriso Maroto and Thiaguinho – with whom he sang last year in the program “Domingão com Huck” – have noticed the boy.
His story with the cavaquinho began at the age of 3, when he tried to imitate the melodies that came out of the soundboard during Sunday lunches with his family, but only two years later the prodigy took a cavaquinho and started to take lessons.
With all the repercussions, Miguel released his first single in August last year, the song “Minha Inspiração”. Also in 2022, he participated in the closing of the “Criança Esperança” program together with Péricles and Dilsinho, with the samba “O Amanhã”.
Today, she has over 800,000 followers on Instagram and over 300,000 on TikTok. Almost every day she shares a new video that showcases all of her talent and charisma.
According to an interview with Folha de S.Paulo, Miguel has the support of his family and is advised by his parents to always keep his feet on the ground. They encourage the boy, as long as the music is his true will.
“My biggest dream is to become a great musician, but for that I need to learn several things. I don’t know everything yet,” he points out.
