Singer celebrates new decade this Thursday (4) and Deezer listed the artist’s main tracks in a playlist
Lulu Santos turns 70 this Thursday (4). Owner of tracks like “Toda forma de Amor”, “Tempos Modernos” and “Como Uma Onda”, Lulu carried, throughout his career, strong influences from progressive rock and surf music. Today he is one of the biggest names in MPB.
The carioca artist started playing at age 12, passing through bands like Cave Man, Veludo Elétrico and Vímana – the latter, alongside Ritchie and Lobão. He was also a columnist and music commentator. But it was in his solo career that he stood out, right in the early 1980s.
Throughout his career he produced more than 20 albums alongside other great artists such as Rita Lee, Ivete Sangalo and Jota Quest. He also won important awards such as the Latin Grammys and the Multishow Award of Brazilian Music. Internationally recognized, Lulu performed in several countries, such as the United States, Portugal, Holland and Canada.
More recently, Lulu gained prominence on TV, as a judge on The Voice Brasil since 2012.
Her list of hits is not small – and to celebrate the date, the streaming platform Deezer prepared a playlist with Lulu’s most listened to songs. Fans should notice the absence of important tracks, such as “Sereia”, “Aquilo” or “Vale de Lágrimas” – but the criteria here are hits and the selection includes the artist’s 10 most listened to songs. Check it out below:
