Filming of ‘Invisible Enemy’ was described as ‘a real hell’ by the press in 1997 due to the dynamic of Harrison Ford and Brad Pitt on set
Two main actors. Two selves. Two plot ideas. Add it all up and you have drama involving Harrison Ford, brad pitt and the movie intimate enemy (1997), as portrayed the eternal Indiana Jones in an interview with Esquire.
First of all, I admire Brad [Pitt]. I think he’s a wonderful actor. He’s a really decent guy. But we couldn’t agree on a director until we reached the Alan Pakulawith whom I had worked before, but Brad no.
before they found Pakulaboth argued intensely about the story: while Ford wanted to have a more complex plot for New York Police Sergeant Tom O’Meara, his character in the film, Pitt I didn’t believe that delving into the police officer’s story would be a good option.
Brad had this complicated character and I wanted a complication on my side so it wasn’t just a battle between good and evil. And that’s when I came up with the bad shot thing.”
ford is referring to his conflict upon witnessing his partner’s poor shot on the field. In the story, Tom O’Meara’s family takes in an Irish construction worker, Rory Devaney (brad pitt) and over time discover that Devaney is an agent in search of missiles.
Over time, ford now blames himself for any friction with Pitt. “I understand why he wanted to stick with his point of view and I wanted to stick with my point of view – or I was pushing my point, and it’s fair to say that’s how Brad felt,” he said, admitting his share of blame for the friction during filming at the time.
