On the second day of its tenth edition, Best of Blues and Rock awarded fans the most emotional expression of music
Celebrating its tenth edition in 2023, the Best of Blues and Rock raised eclecticism as its unofficial flag during the three-day event.
If on Friday rock prevailed, on Saturday (3) it was the festival’s turn to honor the blues of its name – which does not mean that rock has not appeared. The long day started with the energetic hardcore of Dead Fishmoving on to the modernized blues of Artur Menezes It’s from The Nu Blues Bandpassing through the epic instrumental of steve vai until closing with the thrilling delivery of the living legend buddy guy.
Dead Fish revisits three decades of history

Artur Menezes shows what Brazilian blues is made of
The guitarist from Ceará Artur Menezes is another one that returned to the stage of the Best of Blues and Rock – he also played in the 2017 edition. This time, the 37-year-old musician was accompanied by an experienced line-up, gathered days before the show, with drummer Cuca Teixeira and bassist Fernando Rosa – the latter, a sensation with his performance clips on the networks social.
With typical internationally recognized guitar skills, Menezes has traversed the history of blues, adding his personal flavor to interpretations of classics and tracks from his albums. keep pushing (2018) and fading away (2020), including the recent single “She Cold”.

The Nu-Blu Band pays homage to classics
At 5:10 pm, the stage was occupied by members of The Nu-Blu Bandsextet led by Carlise Guynone other than the daughter of buddy guy. Straight to the point, splicing one song into another, the competent group squandered cohesion and virtuosity with an impeccable sound that enchanted those present.

Exhibiting all possible techniques (including his recent creation, joint shifting), Go there seems to be no limits to his abilities. To prove himself even more, just inventing, like playing a three-armed instrument called Hydra, formed by a twelve-string guitar, a seven-string guitar and a semi-fretless bass. The colossus needed two technicians to install it on the stage, which Go used to play “Teeth of the Hydra”, yielding an impressive and almost comical image. The other musicians were left in the dark, which added to the feeling that Go it made all the sounds by itself.

As the only name to play in three editions of Best of Blues and Rock (in 2013 and 2014), guy it is practically the symbol of the festival. Effortlessly taking beautiful notes from the guitar, combining strength and lightness in the measure, he exudes the serenity of someone who has seen and played it all.
His velvety and comfortable voice sounded like a caress in the ears of the fans, who silently accompanied the man performing his art. AND guymockingly, did what he wanted: rubbed the guitar on his forearm and belly, played the riff of “Sunshine of Your Love” using a drumstick and towel and emulated his contemporary Jimi Hendrixtapping with teeth “Voodoo Child”.
