In conversation with Joe Biden, BTS spoke at the White House about the importance of Asian representation in the US
the k-pop group BTS participated in a conference at the White House, in the United States, this Tuesday, 31, to talk about the representation and inclusion of Asian people. Last week, the band announced that they would discuss with President Joe Biden “as young ambassadors who spread a message of hope and positivity around the world.”
All members of BTS attended the conference, with RM opening the speech by stating that it was “a great honor to be invited to the White House today to discuss the important issues of racism against Asians, Asian inclusion and diversity.”
jimin stated that the group is “devastated by the recent wave of hate crimes” against Asians and wanted to take the opportunity “to end this and support the cause.” While sucks asked for tolerance: “It is not wrong to be different. I think equality starts when we open up and accept all our differences.”
J-Hope continued, “We are here today thanks to our ARMYs [fandom do BTS], our fans all over the world, from different nationalities, cultures and languages. We are truly and always grateful.” “We are still amazed that the music created by South Korean artists reaches so many people around the world, transcending language and cultural barriers. We believe that music is always an amazing and wonderful way to bring everything together,” he said. Jungkook.

BTS’ Success: One of K-Pop’s Biggest Names
Since debuting in 2013, BTS – also known as bangtan boys – became a k-pop hit. Composed by RM, Jin, SUGA, J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook, the group has an extensive discography with albums such as wings (2016), Love Yourself: Tear(2018), Map of the Soul: 7 (2020) and The Most Beautiful Moment in Life, Part 1 and Part 2 (2015).
In 2018, they topped Forbes Korea Power Celebrity’s list of most influential and powerful celebrities in South Korea. In 2021, they competed for the first time for the Grammy, in the category Best Pop Duo/Group Performance by the song “Dynamite,” the group’s first composition completely in English.
