‘Seven Stars’, Leela’s first work with lyrics in English, will be available on all digital platforms this Wednesday, June 7
Band Leela presents his new songs, for the first time with lyrics in English, on the EP Seven Stars (2023), which arrived on all digital platforms this Friday, June 7, by the music label music bunker – also created by the members Bianca Jhordão, Rodrigo Brandão, Guilherme Dourado It is Fabiano Paz.
With five tracks, Seven Stars also has the participation of Miranda Kassin on the eponymous single, with lyrics written by Kika Seixas (ex-wife of Raul Seixas). To the Rolling Stone Brazilthe vocalist Bianca Jhordão explained the track-to-track creative process of the new project which, according to the band, “is a must for anyone looking to expand their musical horizons and indulge in some exciting new sounds.”

“This song has the spatial sounds of a theremin and a powerful guitar solo, which make listeners enter the band’s musical journey. The lyrics are playful and insinuating, a little wild and mischievous. I was inspired by a poem by Charles Bukowski, known for his raw and honest writing, and his poems often speak to the human condition in profound ways, it speaks to the idea that no matter how much we achieve or how happy we are, there is always a part of us that feels incomplete.
2. “Seven Stars” (Kika Seixas / Bianca Jhordão / Rodrigo O’Reilly Brandão)
A mesmerizing space rock that reveals the band’s softer side. The song features the singer Miranda Kassin and lyrics of Kika Seixas (ex-wife of Raul Seixas) and will feature a music video recorded live on stage at Teatro Sergio Cardoso on the LeelaLive program, and will be released on June 14, on the band’s Youtube.

“In 1988, I was living in New York, after having spent a wonderful time in California, in Santa Bárbara. Always involved with artists and musicians, a friend in NY showed me a chord, an idea of what a song could be. I went back home alone and, very moved and inspired that afternoon, I started to write “Seven Stars”remembering and missing my partnerships with Raul [Seixas] and when we lived together in Brazil. That song was forgotten, unfinished for 34 years. Until I meet you, dear ones, bianca It is Rodrigo Brandãothis song found the perfect partnership!”
3. “Lost in You” (Kjell Sandvik / Bianca Jhordão / Rodrigo O’Reilly Brandão)
Already released as a single, it’s a fan favorite, showcasing the band’s ability to master the balance between the danceable and the melodic. The guitar work is stunning, and Bianca’s delivery on this track is nothing short of breathtaking. This track is perfect for anyone who has ever fallen in love and lost themselves in those feelings.
4. “So What” (Carol Teixeira / DJ Chernobyl / Bianca Jhordão / Rodrigo O’Reilly Brandão)
It’s unmissable for the well-crafted lyrics with the melody, for its synths, for the captivating guitar riff and also for the dance floor beat. This song is for anyone who wants to let go and dance with their heart.
5. “I Want My Hype In Money” (Carol Teixeira / DJ Chernobyl / Bianca Jhordão / Rodrigo O’Reilly Brandão)
Another standout track on this release, showcasing electro, proto-punk and grunge influences. Bianca takes over the drums, while sharing the vocals with Rodrigo, creating a raw sound, closing the EP in an explosive way.
