Vocalist and guitarist also sought to find explanations to justify why his band received so much “hate” in recent years

“I can’t stand some bands, but I don’t go around on the internet becoming a ‘keyboard warrior’ spewing hate. I just change the channel or put on something I want to hear.”
Lizzo defends Nickelback
In a 2019 video that went viral on social media again, the singer lizzo came to the defense of the Canadian band. On the occasion, the pop artist participated in the “Jam or Not a Jam”, from CBC, in a game that consisted of listening to songs by other artists and saying whether they would do a show with them or not.

While listening to the song, lizzo it showed that he didn’t know the lyrics, but he knew the melody by heart. Then she said:
“I don’t know the words, but everyone knows this melody. The part where the battery stops? Great. Chad had curly blond hair, had it permed. That’s the only reason I could make them shit, because this song is amazing.”
With video back online in 2023, the Nickelback became aware of the praise coming from his illustrious fan. The band shared the footage on twitter and declared:
