The Academy has released the date of the announcement of the nominees and the ceremony of the 2024 Grammy Awards
O Grammy 2024 already has a date to happen. The biggest award in the music industry is scheduled for February 4 next year, as announced on the organization’s website (via Folha de S. Paulo).
Crypto.com Arena, in Los Angeles (United States) will host the event. In addition, the announcement of the nominees should take place on November 10th.
Among the novelties for this year are the inclusion of three new categories: Best African Music Performance, Best Alternative Jazz Album, Best Pop Dance Recording.
There was also a change in the number of competitors for the four main prizes: Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Record of the Year It is New artist. There will be eight nominees in place of the 10 spots available until the 2023 edition.
Artificial intelligence barred from the 2024 Grammys
No artificial intelligence in Grammy. The Academy, responsible for hosting the ceremony, announced eligibility requirements for the 2024 edition and made it clear that the songs must be made by humans.
“Only human creators are eligible to apply,” reads the policy, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter (via Omelet). Music can be aided by AI tools, but “the human authorial component must be meaningful and relevant to the category in which the work was entered.”
