João Marcello Bôscoli was born in Rio de Janeiro, in 1970, and today he is one of the most important musical entrepreneurs in Brazil. He guarantees that he inherited his mother’s total delivery and belief in the craft. “About the taste for music, she kept her concert season until the eighth month of my pregnancy. So how could it be different? For him, his mother is Pelé in the corner. “We need several singers combined to maybe come close to your talent. It’s a genetic accident,” he adds.

From his day-to-day life with his mother, João Marcello misses home activities, such as cooking, cleaning the house, covering his notebooks and being taken to school by her. To illustrate their relationship, he says: “Once, she had back pain and came to sleep in my bed. I felt like a superhero, taking care of her and patting her head”. Today, he is the father of Arthur, born in August 2011 and the result of his marriage to presenter Eliana. João Marcello says that he hopes to be able to love and respect him as he was for his mother, and also give him freedom and clear limits, in addition to contact with nature.

Born in 1975, Pedro Mariano did not have as intense contact with Elis as João Marcello.

“My memories of her are, in fact, a great mixture of images, which were formed over time by stories told to me. I have flashes of her in my memory, but nothing very clear, which is very frustrating”, comments Pedro. “I would love to sit down and remember these stories. Might miss it, but actually it doesn’t. As for the artist, like everyone else, I have several images, but they also end up mixing with things I saw in TV or newspaper articles.”

With regard to learning, Pedro Mariano is adamant:

“Everything I do I learned from my father, who was always careful to credit many of his actions to her as well. They experienced many things together professionally. Their stories intertwine. Sometimes he tells me that some of my personality traits as a musician are similar to hers. It could be genetics, or it could be that from watching him work so closely I could have absorbed traits common to both”.

Maria Rita was unable to speak to the reporters of Rolling Stone Brazil.
