Organization of the Catalan festival spoke out in response to the many criticisms involving attendance on the first day: covid would still be affecting the event; 2022 edition of Primavera Barcelona runs until Saturday (4)
The organization of Primavera Sound Barcelona apologized after numerous criticisms involving queues and attendance at the bars of the event, which started this Thursday (2). With the beginning of the second day of the program, which runs until Saturday (4), the festival posted on its social networks that it is “aware” of the problems and “working tirelessly” to solve them.
The return comes to calm the complaints that took to social networks this Thursday. One user accused the festival of organizing “insane lines for everything, overcrowding, difficult access to stages, to actually see the bands, and inhumane access to water”. Another user posted a video of a crowded bar and wrote: “45 minutes to get a drink, walked a meter.”

Head of international press for spring barcelona, Marta Pallarès replied to NMEthat the problems would have been caused by employee layoffs and difficulties with card payment systems. According to her, more staff and extra water access facilities were provided for the remainder of the event.
“The covid is not over yet and this is affecting us, not only artistically, but also our team. Yesterday we had several casualties, both in the bars and in maintenance; in total, there are two kilometers of bars, which is a lot, but we noticed that in some areas, the festival had a much smaller audience and they were more empty (we are way below our total capacity, which is 95 thousand guests, ‘only’ 66 thousand attended).
“Still, of course, we’ve hired more bartenders to work in the busy areas and relocated some of them to quieter areas.
The spokeswoman also said that the problem with cards involved the occasional lack of Wi-Fi in some bars, which delayed the payment process, but that the issue was resolved yesterday. And that the organization will have to offer water in two new stations, in addition to the existing ones in the Forum Parkwhere the Spring occurs.
