“Where I took up residence in Tennessee, legislators are proposing laws that threaten the freedom of love. It is imperative that I speak my truth not only for myself, but also in hopes of changing hearts, minds and laws in Tennessee and beyond. These questions are especially close to my heart as I have been in a same-sex love relationship with my partner for eight years. Those close to me are well aware, but it’s important for me to share this with the public.

Over the years, the amount of love for the LGBTQ+ community has been immense, but there is still work to be done for LGBTQ+ rights in Tennessee, the nation and the world. In response to the outstanding support in my last post, I wanted to share how we can contribute to this worthy cause. The LGBTQ+ community is a cultural pillar, constantly celebrating positivity and acceptance through art, music, literature, film and, most important of all, legislation. The greatest mortal gift of us all is our capacity to love, and as we travel through time, may our greater understanding of the matter around and within us teach us to love deeper and deeper.”
