Selena Gomezused audio from sex and the city to promote the single that will be released this Friday, the 25th. In the video posted on Instagram, Selena mimics a telephone with the hand and is voiced with a “Hello”. Then a male voice replies, “It’s over! I told my wife.” Then gomez replies being voiced again: “Who is speaking?”.
The voice behind the dubbing is from kim cattrallinterpreter of Samantha Jones in sex and the city. Selena used audio from the first season of the iconic series — Three’s a Crowd (Episode 8) — when Samantha is on the phone with a suitor who has split up with his wife to be with her. The character, however, has no interest in investing in the relationship.

The use of this specific passage can be explained by the name given to the new song by Selena Gomez: “Single Soon”, which, loosely translated, means “single soon”. The website promoting the launch says, “Do you have a friend or loved one who is going through a breakup, heartbroken, or in drought? Celebrate being single soon (or singleness now) with everything you need for perfect night”. Then, you can leave your data to compete for a package that includes items from the singer’s merch and makeup from Rare Beauty.
The new single from Miley Cyrus, “Used To Be Young”, also hits streaming platforms on the 25th of this month. The two artists who met at Disney publicized each other’s release.
