At The Town, MC Hariel criticizes the stage decoration: “they forgot about the shack”

“It has all the monuments of the city of São Paulo, but they forgot the monument that builds all these monuments,” said the singer before the show together with MC Ryan SP and MC Cabelinho

MC Hariel took to the stage at the festival The city for the second show of the day, after the inauguration made by Tasha & Tracie and Karol Conká this Saturday afternoon, the 2nd show of the favela in the thematic composition of the stage, representing the city of São Paulo.

“The show is 100% a funk aesthetic, so we didn’t want to get here and set up a theatre, a show that ran away from the funk. It’s the DJ, the MC. And, as you can see, the whole stage has all the monuments of the city of São Paulo, but they have forgotten the monument that builds all these monuments, which is the shack”, said MC Hariel.

“So we put a shack there, mirrored, to represent all the people from the suburbs who came from below. Rest assured that whoever set up this stage, this event, will feel represented in some way,” he continued.

In another point, the singer also spoke of the prejudices he suffers due to the musical genre: “It is not possible to please everyone. However, our rhythm, in itself, already takes very high just to be funk. Sometimes people they see “MC” there, they don’t even want to know the rest of the name and they already criticize it. We don’t want anyone to respect us for millions, for money, we want them to respect us for our sound and our music. If it’s not good, it gets better , because we are in search of evolution”.
