bebop cowboy, The iconic neo-western animated sci-fi show has amassed a solid cult following after its one-season airing over twenty years ago. For the first time since fans have been awarded Cowboy Bebop: The Movie in 2001, Spike, Faye and Jet returned last year in a live-action Japanese anime adaptation for Netflix. Time many fans loved the show, its broadcast was cut short by the streamer and now actress Daniella Pineda, aka Faye Valentine, has given us some clues about her feelings about the cancellation, as well as her hopes of returning to a potential spin-off.
Daniella Pineda also plays doctor Zia RodrÃguez in the new blockbuster Jurassic world: domination. We met her at the film’s red carpet premiere, where we asked if her portrayal of Faye could somehow make a comeback. She told us this:
I wish Faye had her own spin-off. It was such a crazy experience and I really wish we had a chance. You know, many shows find their own balance, that’s the truth. You also find your pace from the pilot episode to the season. And then season 2, season 3, you grow up. Develop and solve problems. I find it unfortunate that we have not had the opportunity to do this. But you know, we’ll see. Who knows? Maybe Faye will be back. She was a very fun character to play.
It is clear that Daniella Pineda still feels the disappointment at the cancellation of the show, and even if she seems to admit that the live action bebop cowboy it wasn’t perfect, I wish they had the opportunity to grow and improve. Not only that, but he’s hoping for a Faye Valentine spin-off! Does it make sense for a show to be canceled in this capacity and then come back, but focused on a character? We will see.
Despite bebop cowboy it wasn’t perfect and many elements were changed from the original anime, many fans agreed that it accurately captured the spirit of the original series and absolutely wanted to see more of it. Some even believe that there were elements that improved compared to the original, and as Pineda said, if they had the chance, they could find “their own balance”.
While the anime series also had a short run, it wasn’t due to the cancellation. The show ran for 26 episodes and the creator wrote it with a finished ending. That is, until the next film that came a few years later. Of course, live-action is a bit more expensive, and the Netflix show didn’t make it past its 10-episode first season.
In the final episode of the first season, we take a look at the fan-favorite character, Ed, who probably would much more screen time in season two. Fans seemed to think enough was enough important missing element, and it looks like we may never see the series reach its full potential.
But as Daniella Pineda told us, “who knows?” maybe we’ll see more bebop cowboy all along the line. In the meantime, you can find both the original series and the live adaptation (opens in a new tab) on Netflix!
