Renewal of singer with girl group would be under negotiation, but speculation is already causing millionaire damage to YG Entertainment
Rumors about a possible departure from Lisa of BLACKPINK generated a 9% drop in the shares of the group’s agency, the YG Entertainment. The global K-pop phenomenon just received the VMA in the category of Best groupbut behind the scenes, renewal negotiations would be held between the singer and the company.
Speculation, which began circulating in the South Korean media this week, suggests that all of BLACKPINK’s contracts should have been renewed last August. However, Lisa would not have accepted the agreement for more than 50 billion won (approximately 183 million reais).
With the rumors – and the consequent drop in YG Entertainment’s shares -, the company issued a statement this Friday (15), in which it states: “we are discussing the renewal of the contract with Lisa”. According to the same statement: “the rumors are not yet confirmed” (viz Dazed).

Since last July, there has been speculation about Lisa leaving BLACKPINK due to scheduling incompatibilities between the singer and the group, which is at the end of a global tour with visits to 21 countries – A Born Pink World Tourwhich surpassed the meeting of Spice Girls in 2019 as the highest-grossing tour by a female group in history.
