Thais Piza: how disappointments in love inspired last single

With ‘Uma Linda Mulher’, Thais Piza continues her musical releases – in the most recent, ‘Do Lado de Fora’, she gives vent to the frustration of lost loves

On the air with the celebrated Brazilian adaptation of A beautiful woman, Thais Pizza continues with the other side of her career, as a singer, beyond active – and perhaps a little inspired by the romance she enacts on stage. On September 8th, she released the ballad “Outside”single produced by Giu Dagain the air Burning Records.

“Everyone has a story of disappointment in love, of giving too much to someone who didn’t deserve it, right?”, the singer tells Rolling Stone Brazil.

“I wrote it. It was one day at home alone – and single [risos] -, remembering how we often expect things and place trust and feelings in the wrong people… consequently we break our faces. We stay ‘on the outside’, waiting for something that won’t happen.”

“Do Lado de Fora” continues the release of “Worse than me”, and completes an EP started by her in “Antagonista” – which gives the compilation its name. This time, it appears with references to hard rock from the 1980s and current pop rock.

Even though the music has nothing to do with the show, A beautiful womanThais sees parallels between her performance as the character Vivian Ward and what she sings in “Do Lado de Fora”:

“I think my Vivian could definitely sing this song in the play. I have a solo where she explains so much disappointment and abandonment that she has experienced in her life, it has everything to do with this moment.”

The artist also comments that the track – and the EP, in general – are just some of the releases she has “in the pipeline”. “But we still don’t have a forecast because now I need to focus on the musical, it takes up the vast majority of my time due to the technical complexity and discipline required.”
