U2 release single and video for new track ‘Atomic City’

U2 just released their new song this Friday (29th). Atomic cityproduced by Jacknife Lee AND Steve Lillywhite and registered in City of sound In Los Angeles (UNITED STATES OF AMERICA). The song, now available on digital platforms via Universal musicthrough Island recordsarrives ahead of the band’s tour BallIn Las Vegasto celebrate the album Achtung Babyoriginally published in 1991.

Atomic city is a three and a half minute tribute to the magnetic spirit of post-punk 70’swith a tribute to blondewhose pioneering work with George Moroder he inspired and influenced the band.

Good He says: “It’s a love song to our audience… ‘where you are is where I’ll be’.”

The title of the song is a nickname from the 1950s Las Vegasfrom a time when nuclear fascination took over the nation and the city promoted itself as the center of atomic tourism due to its proximity to the Nevada testing site.

The video was directed by Ben Kutchinswith the creative direction of Tarik Mikoufrom the Music factory moment. Show the surprise presentation of U2 at the end of the evening, playing music in the center of Las Vegas last week, in the same place as Fremont Street Where Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton AND Larry Mullen Jr.. shot the iconic video for the classic I Still Have not Found What I’m Looking For there are more than 36 years old.

This latest and most ambitious project celebrates the acclaimed album Achtung Baby and also the TV tour of the ZOOwho broke with old patterns and redefined the sector in 1991.

It was that tour that established the band’s reputation. U2 as artists who always push the limits of live performance, with groundbreaking shows that incorporate the most modern and innovative technology.
