Released in 1990, the single Grand Hotel, which was a hit for the band Kid Abelha at the time, is reinterpreted for the first time in the voice of singer and songwriter Roberta Campos. The song talks about a lightning-fast and fleeting love that acquires even more intensity and softness in the singer’s voice.
As is already characteristic of Roberta, the track ends with an unexpected and infectious voice, definitively bringing the song into the universe of the Minas Gerais artist. The singer also took the risk of leaving out the amazing guitar riff from the original recording and created another one, in her style, which permeates the entire song.
“Roberta’s precise interpretation brings a sweet voice – bitter suffering with softness”scores Paolo Toller.
Musical production was the responsibility of the performer and Renato Galozzi, who in addition to co-producing also played mandolin and keyboards. To complete the strong team, in addition to Roberta on guitar, there are the musicians Danilo Moura on the battery, Matteo Barbosa on guitar and Otávio Gali on bass. Mixing and mastering were handled by Vittorio Fariasresulting in a Brazilian ballad.
“The voice ultimately makes her signature clear. The song reflects Roberta’s finesse, sensitivity and good taste”He says George Israel.
Grand Hotel is part of 5 parts of me, the singer’s new project which will be released in November this year. In it Roberta pays homage to great artists and movements crucial to her musical education, such as Marisa Monte, Kid Abelha, Djavan AND Clube da Esquina.
Singer, instrumentalist and composer, Roberta he is the author of songs that have been part of the main soundtracks of soap operas, such as From January to January who was in five productions on the country’s largest broadcasters, ShelterIn The other side of paradise; My happinessopening theme of Sunrise AND All dayfrom the soap opera Orphans of the Earth.
