‘I just want to hug him,’ the DJ said in one video, emotionally; The musician’s father is in a bunker, waiting to return to Brazil
The DJ Okay published a very emotional video this Tuesday morning, 10. Visibly shaken, the musician spoke about his father, Juarez Petrillo (DJ Swarup)who was present at one of the festivals attacked by Hamas in Israel.
“It won’t be easy for me to record this video,” he began. “My father was at the event, he was about to perform when a shelling started there and the event was interrupted. Everyone ran out. My father also ran out, he managed to get into a car and get out of there . The car behind him, with some acquaintances, he was shot.”
“My father managed to take refuge in a bunker. And he was safe there,” she said, already in tears.
Later, Alok reiterated that his father is the creator of the Parallel Universe franchise, but he was not the producer of the event in Israel. And he answered a common question: “I also asked myself, ‘Why did they have an event so close to the Gaza Strip?’ In fact, I found that it happens very often. The night before there had been an event in the same place, and at night, on the same day, it would also be.”
The DJ also revealed that due to limited contact with his father and their busy schedules, he discovered on the Internet that Juarez was at one of the attacked festivals.
“I’ve already left home, I haven’t lived with my father for more than 15 years. Unfortunately I have little contact with my father. My father plays, he’s a DJ, so he’s always traveling around the world, me too. He doesn’t know where they are, I don’t even know where he is. I found out he was there through the internet,” he said.
“My father is fine, he is safe. All I want now is to be able to hug him, welcome him. But unfortunately many people won’t be able to do that”, concluded the musician, in tears.
“I’m sorry, but with the weight of the news, imagining the pain of family members and still reading so many absurd and perverse comments is heartbreaking,” he wrote. “My condolences go to all the innocent victims and families devastated by this war.”
