Warrior Nun: The creator of the Netflix series is making an announcement, and it doesn’t look good for the future

A month ago, Warrior Nun fans discovered good news: the series was saved after being canceled by Netflix. Season 3 is not in sight, but rather a trilogy of films that will close the story of Ava (Alba Baptista) and the rest of the sisterhood. Since then, we have had no further information from the channel or broadcast platform.

A few days ago, series creator Simon Barry took to X (formerly Twitter) to explain his stance on the sequel. And the bad news is, he’s not one of them:

“Hello Warrior Nun Family. Thanks for all your comments, messages, questions… FYI, I don’t know what will be announced tomorrow. I am not a member of the team that produces the films, and I was not asked to write or direct.”

It’s a surprising message when we know that he directed a series on Netflix, that he has massively supported a fan campaign, and that he knows the world very well. Who better than Simon Barry to answer the unanswered questions and keep this trilogy true to Tony?

A statement that does not predict the future and that has not responded to its followers since it was published. Producers David Hayter and Amy Berg also indicated that they had not been contacted for the sequel.

There is currently no word on whether the Warrior Nun movies will actually be a sequel to the Netflix series, which was canceled after two seasons. It could be a rewrite of the comic it’s based on, with an entirely new cast.

If the announcement Barry is talking about in his tweet was not related to the Warrior Nun, we’ll definitely have to wait a while before we know more, as the actors’ strike is still going on in Hollywood.
