Understand the case
Yellow magicit was released on Tuesday evening, the 17th, and immediately became the subject of controversy on social media, accused of plagiarism.
The similarity of the single with Yellow, album and audiovisual project by Murderousit became a topic overnight. Evandro Fióti he claimed that the work was “conceptually stolen”. On the morning of this Wednesday the 18th, Juliette’s team informed that the track was part of an advertising campaign.
Hours later, Duda Beat and his team also spoke. The singer claims that she had no participation in the artistic creation of the song and that she was hired by the brand only as one of the performers of the song.
“From the first contact between the agency and the artist’s office, still in the negotiation phase, the name of Felipe Vassão emerged (one of the authors of the musical project and the song Yellow) he was mentioned in the campaign as the author of the commercial song (which did not yet exist and did not even have the name of Yellow magic)”. According to Duda’s team, she was not notified of the exclusion of Vassão’s name from the project’s authorship.
The singer deleted the post minutes after sharing it. Duda subsequently published the above-mentioned statement. Mentioned in Duda’s statement, Vassão published the case very briefly on his social networks. “I have no involvement with new music Yellow magicby Juliette and Duda Beat,” he wrote.
On his social media, Evandro commented that the advertising managers contacted the Emicida team. “This brand negotiated with us,” Fióti said on air. “We didn’t reach an agreement, due to schedule, deadline and financial issues. The budget they had didn’t justify the delivery we needed to make.”
The plagiarism of Amarelo is a publication by Balducco and it gets worse after the revelation that the brand tried to close with Emicida, but there were no agreements. So they decided to appropriate the concept
