The Blues’ Baco Exu took to his social media on Sunday (29/10) to denounce an incident of racism he experienced at an airport. The 27-year-old singer avoided going into details about what happened, but she took the opportunity to share a reflection.
“Today someone was openly racist to me at the airport, I managed to answer correctly, but there was a reminder that it is always good to remember: regardless of fame, regardless of money, regardless of respect or power. Just don’t know what you it’s face or your name. Everyone on the rise remembers that,” he said on Instagram Stories.
Shortly after, Baco published another reflection on the importance of artistic representation on X (formerly Twitter). “One thing I see and am happy about is how people who look like me have started to think they are beautiful along with me, a collective process of self-esteem,” the singer wrote.
