Junior’s new project will have new clips and choreography, without a release date yet.
Junior Lima returned to his pop career with his new album “Solo – Vol. 1”, a title that has the double meaning of being his first solo work and treading already known ground. The album will contain ten tracks, with the participation of sandy and two signatures of Xororo.
The singer appears as a backing vocalist in the song “Fod*-se”, where she shares an excerpt from the duo’s success with her brother: “Everything would come into perfect harmony very quickly”, they sing together to give their fans a gift. The foul-mouthed lyrics still try to break with the image of the “puritans” they never accepted.
“It’s going to be funny for some people to hear me singing ‘f*ck you’ over and over again. At some point, it hit me, for those who have this image of the guy. It was funny! I think it’s liberating,” Junior said in an interview with Who magazine, where the artist even wore a ring with the word “f*ck”.
Junior also revealed that the tracks “Sou” and “O Dom” were signed by Xororó. “It was he who sent me the first song. The whole embryo came from him, which encouraged me to start composing the rest,” the musician admitted.
The album “Solo” was inspired by ‘s 30th anniversary tour Sandy and Junior, which became an exclusive Globoplay documentary after being filmed in Brazil, New York and Portugal. The artist explained that he saw in “Our Story” the need to resume his career in order to feel complete.
“The tour awakened me to this project, it was the trigger. Already during the rehearsals, I saw how far I was from something that really nourished me. It also helped me to see myself again in the context in which I could use all my learning, all my baggage and possibilities as an artist. In other post-Sandy & Junior projects, it was always just a part of me, and not me fully existing. I hadn’t seen myself like this for a long time, and I I felt really good, whole, present and at home,” Junior said.
Junior’s new project will have new clips and choreography, without a release date yet. But the songs are now available on digital platforms.
