The Beatles’ last unreleased song is getting a documentary this Wednesday; find out how to watch


The 12-minute short film will have unpublished testimonies from the band and will tell the behind-the-scenes story of the song, which features John Lennon’s voice and was produced by Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr; see trailer

A 12 minute documentary on the band’s “last song”. Beatles will be released this Wednesday, November 1st. The short film, titled From Time to Time: The Beatles’ last song, was directed by Oliver Murray and will have its world premiere on the band’s YouTube channel from 4.30pm. Watch the trailer above.

The documentary tells the story behind the song with exclusive footage and commentary from Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, George Harrison, Sean Ono Lennon and Peter Jackson, the director who directed The Beatles: Going Back and returns to direct the music video of the song, which will be released on Friday 3rd.

The song itself can be heard on Thursday 2nd. The song has been awaited by fans since McCartney announced the project and said that the voice of John Lennon was recovered using artificial intelligence.

According to the musician, however, it has not been recreated, as was done recently with the rumors of several already dead idols, just recovered. “Nothing was created artificially or synthetically. It’s all real and we all touch it,” she said.

The song was written and performed by Lennon, with production by McCartney, Starr and Harrison. Four decades later, the remaining members decided to finish the song and make it available to fans.

The demo of Occasionally was recorded in the late 1970s at John Lennon’s home in New York, United States. In 1994, his wife, Yoko Ono Lennon, gave the song to Paul, George and Ringo, along with the songs Free as a bird AND True lovewhich were released by the band in 1995 and 1996.
