OR rap singer Kodak Black launched this week When I was dead, a cathartic new album that reaffirms his status as one of the hottest artists of his generation. The album is now available on digital platforms via Universal Music, via Capitol Records.
When I was dead count with 18 new tracksfull of I sing blues and it’s the next step in a legacy he’s cultivated with rugged melodies and dexterity preternatural and deadly sincerity. With his innate instinct for sound and engaging composition, he became one of the most revered street poets of his era.
When I was dead was preceded by the launch last May of Pistolz and Pearlzwhich included success No love for a criminal and collaborations with emerging hip-hop artists such as EST Gee, VVSNCE, GorditoFlo, Syko Bob and more.
Pistolz and Pearlz came accompanied by The Dona film by 21 minutes hero Kodak black like a gangster caught at the crossroads of reforming his ways.
But the race doesn’t end for the rapper: he recently launched his own record label, Vulture lovein collaboration with Capitol Recordswhich has already signed its first artist, Lil Crix — another Floridian with dreams of rap domination.
