Kiss: Farewell tour is ‘the end of the road for the band, not the brand’, says Gene Simmons

Gene Simmons prepares to perform last show in Kiss history on December 2, 2023

About to end his farewell tour and retire from the stage for good, Kiss it won’t end after the last shows. According to the bassist and vocalist Gene Simmonsthis is “the end of the road for the band, not the brand.”

It’s worth remembering how the last show will take place at Madison Square Garden, in New York, United States, on December 2, 2023. For those who were unable to buy tickets for the performance, the iconic hard rock group announced a paid live broadcast. To find out more about the live, click here.

During an interview with 519 Magazine, Simmons explained how fans can expect some projects related to the band after they say goodbye to the stage. “This tour is the end of the road for the band, not the brand. Kiss is a universe of its own – films, merchandise, perhaps even Broadway,” stated the musician.

The band will end, but the experience of Kiss… is immortal.

“It’s the end of the tour. You’re very smart to see that. We’re the hardest working band on stage,” he continued. Gene Simmons. “I’ve got 100 pounds of armor and everything else and four-inch platform heels. Each of the dragon boots weighs as much as a bowling ball. Physically, it’s hard to do that.”

He then commented on the possibility of Kiss continue the musical side of his career in a different style: “I could do that on my own [velhice]like the Stonesif it were like Keith [Richards]not like [Mick] Jaggerwhy Jagger continues to push the limit. But you could throw on a pair of comfy sneakers and a t-shirt and strum your guitar; You wouldn’t have to break your back.”

If any of them – the Rolling Stonesyou Beatles or whoever – had to wear my clothes, breathe fire and do it in seven-inch platform heels for two hours, they would break their backs.

Finally, Simmons explained how the band will “continue” in other ways. “There is a museum of Kiss in Las Vegas, in Rio, called KISS Worldand, oh, my God, we have cruises from Kiss, a movie coming out and we’re working on a cartoon show, a lot of things. And of course, all the fun toys and games will continue.”

“The show Kiss will live in different ways. Yes, this is being planned. There will also be four to ten different traveling shows. So, you can be in Japan and have Japanese actors and musicians being us, and at the same time, you can go to Las Vegas, New York or London,” concluded the star.
