The iconic jazz pianist Diana Krall returned to Brazil with very rich shows Brasilia, Rio de Janeiro AND St. Paulfor shows full of memorable songs and classics.
One of the major references of international contemporary jazz, and owner of an unmistakable and unique vocal timbre, as the French would say: “room voice to coucher”(which would be a deep, velvety voice with a tone of sensuality), the Canadian artist, winner of two Grammy Awards and various gold records AND platinumdid not spare his talent on the piano during his performance in the capital of Sao Paulo on Saturday evening (18), where he strummed unique improvisations.
Accompanied by Robert Hurst on the acoustic bass, e Anthony Wilson on guitar, Diana moved her fans on stage Tokyo Navy HallIn St. Paul in a presentation of approximately Duration 1h30common ladder full of hits like Night and day, cry to me river (Arthur Hamilton) e I’ve got you under my skin (Cole Porter).
The trio demonstrated impeccable talent, impressing not only with their almost surgical precision, but also with their harmony. There were several solos at different times during the show, and each one showed absolute mastery of his instruments.
The climax, of course, after countless and growing applause, was the encore. The three songs chosen brought the audience to their feet and enchanted the most incredulous: It’s wonderful (George Gershwin), Dream a Little Dream of Me (Fabian Andre, Wilbur Schwandt and Gus Khan), e The look of love (Burt Bacharach and Hal David).
“Bossa Nova is part of the jazz language”He said Diana Krall to the public present at the Tokyo Navy Hall. “Song inspired by Bossa Nova”said the jazz star declaring his love for the Brazilian musical genre.
And if we have already heard through the diva herself that Brazilian music is something different from anything you have ever heard in your life, we return the compliment for her performance, which leaves every Brazilian speechless.
