Kiss: Gene Simmons says the band is investing US$200 million in a show with virtual avatars

Kiss played the last show in the band’s history at the beginning of December, but assured that ‘the end is just the beginning’

At the beginning of December, the Kiss played the last show of the tour End of the Road, which officially ends the band’s activities. “Today, a new era begins. #KISSARMY, the end is just the beginning,” the group wrote on Twitter. “Kiss was immortalized and reborn as avatars to rock forever.”

As well as the ABBA invested in virtual avatars on tour Voyage — which shows the Swedes in a younger version — the Kiss also invested in technology. Second Gene Simmonsthe avatars “will get better”, and around US$200 million dollars are being invested in the endeavor.

“There’s a lot being planned, even beyond my understanding. But they’re spending around 200 million to take it to another level,” said the musician at a meeting with fans at the Electric Lady studio in New York. Simmons still praised the show ABBA: “Can’t tell if they’re there.”

The avatars are being developed by the George LucasIndustrial Light & Magic, in collaboration with Pophouse Entertainment Group, co-founded by Bjorn Ulvaeusof ABBA.
