One of the main Brazilian bands, Melimwill celebrate the end of a cycle full of successes with the last show of the successful tour Courtyard. Brothers Gabi, Rodrigo and Diogo Melimowners of over 3.2 billion streams, will be one of the attractions of New Year’s Eve in the Parkin Alto Oeste Potiguar, Rio Grande do Norte, this Sunday, 31.
Since April the group has been on tour in Brazil with the Quintal tour, a show that not only revisits great successes, but also I heard AND My shelter, but also highlights songs from the latest album of the same name. With more than 20 million streams on digital platforms, the album is an introspective journey composed of 17 songs, in which all the songs are accompanied by music videos, and also boasts collaborations with big names in national music, such as Vitor Kley, Natiruts , Duda Beat, Emicida and Vitao.
Considered one of the biggest phenomena of recent years, Melim is made up of brothers Gabriela, Diogo and Rodrigo Melim. The idea of starting the band was born in 2015 when Gabriela was invited to participate in a music festival in Canela, Rio Grande do Sul, and she invited the brothers to perform. Given the great success and reception of the public, the brothers thought for the first time of uniting musically to bring music together throughout Brazil.
In 2016 they participated in the reality show Superstar, in which they were semi-finalists. A year later, they signed with Universal Music Brasil, which distributes the trio’s releases and is once again at the forefront of promoting Melim’s project around the world.
In just 7 years of career, the group has already received 31 success certificates, including a Triple Diamond Disc for the hit My shelter. The single is part of the trio’s self-titled debut album, released in 2018, which also contains the singles Diamond I heard AND Two hearts.
In 2019, the band was nominated for the award Multi-show it’s at Latin Grammyand released the first part of his second studio album, I company. You. The second part, For loves and flowers, which arrived in 2021, which guaranteed Melim his second Latin Grammy nomination with the song of the same name, in the Best Portuguese Language Song category. In the same year the brothers were released Let it come from the hearta collection of re-recordings of Djavan classics.
From January onwards the brothers Gabi, Rodrigo and Diogo will embark on solo careers.
