Dua Lipa dismisses finished video, which cost a fortune, as ‘insensitive’

Dua Lipa has canceled a finished music video, costing hundreds of thousands of pounds, after deciding its content was too “insensitive” to be released in the context of the ongoing conflict in the Gaza Strip.

According to British newspaper The Sun, the video included scenes of clashes in the crowd and would serve to promote the release of his third album next year.

The video was recorded in September, before the Hamas terrorist attack in Israel on October 7. Since then, the star has had a series of meetings with her management about the production.

The Sun quotes a source who worked on the project: “In essence, the video was funny, but contained themes of chaos – including car crashes, demolitions, explosions, fireworks and crowd clashes. Dua and her team decided that would have been insensitive.” for publishing the video, given what has happened since October 7th.”

Dua Lipa shared the destruction of Gaza on her social media. In a statement published in October, he wrote: “With each passing day, my heart aches for the people of Israel and Palestine. I mourn the lives lost in the horrific attacks in Israel. I weep as I witness the unprecedented suffering in Gaza, where 2 .2 million souls, half of which are children, face unimaginable difficulties.” He concluded with an appeal for peace. “Our hope lies in finding the empathy necessary to recognize this terrible humanitarian situation.”

This week, Dua Lipa tops the charts as the highest-paid singer in the UK.
