The following will touch on the spoilers of Strange thingsso stop reading now if you haven’t seen the first part episodes.
Don’t say it really, Netflix season 4 Strange things was inspired by the classic horror franchise freddie. Main villain Vecna ”hypnotizes” her victims and makes them feel like they are trapped in a nightmare before physically attacking them in sequences that traumatize with creepy sound effects . And while the Stranger Things team admits that Vecna’s appearance was influenced by a vintage game of Thrones character They also inclined their hands a lot towards him. Nightmare on via Elm love when they chose Freddy Krueger himself Robert Englund, for a central role … and thinks there is a good chance of returning once the second half of season 4 is over.
Robert Englund appeared in an episode of Strange things season 4 so far, playing Victor Creel in a setting that was also a blatant homage to Anthony Hopkins’ captivity at The silence of the lambs. But at the end of the first part of this season, when we learn that Vecna is actually Victor’s troubled son, Henry Creel, we assume that Victor can return. So when Englund stopped at the official Gossipify site ReelBlend podcast, we asked him if he plans to return Strange thingsAnd he told us:
I do not know. You know what I understand is because I just finished watching the whole season 4. And of course, without giving too many spoilers, I see where they are going. And let’s see what manifests with Henry, my son. We have learned the truth about it. But there is a time when Nancy is a little red: the underworld, Salvador Dalí’s floating things, Hawkins’ stalactites, stalagmites and fragments, and roots grow everywhere. And there’s a voiceover there, and (Vecna) is talking about me. “Old Victor. Oh, I haven’t seen old Victor in a while. … he says, ‘Well, maybe … I’ve been so, so busy. But maybe I should see it again or something. So I don’t know what that means. I don’t know if it’s just the writing that reaffirms the relationship between the two to the public, do you understand? Henry, Victor, Victor, Vecta. Or if that means he has to come back and kill me, you know? Or he wants to savor my death because I disappointed him as a father. That I was responsible and I am a hypocrite, as 11 says. I am a hypocrite, and I was responsible for the death of a child in World War II and all.
I’m just speculating here, but Robert Englund seems correct when he says that Vecna has unfinished business with her father, Victor, and that Englund’s return for a few more scenes makes sense, from a narrative standpoint. Also, why hire a horror legend like Robert Englund if you don’t plan on using him for more than one cell scene? Yup, the prosthetic team praised Englund’s contributions But Englund thinks there is also a literary reason why Victor needs to resurface … giving us real hope. As he tells ReelBlend:
But you know, Victor. What is Vittorio? What’s his name Victor? What is the basic collective consciousness of the terror unfolding in the name? Victor Frankenstein. And who is Victor Frankenstein? What did he do? He gave birth to a monster. Because Frankenstein is the scientist, not the monster. And I’m Victor Creel, and I gave birth to a monster. So what does this say about my bad seed? It is well written. A lot of things are happening.
We won’t have to wait long to find out, because the second part of Strange things Season 4 arrives on Netflix on July 1st. We emphasize a number of things we want to see at the end of the season, and also in the foreground the questions we still had after the end of the first part. Some of them had to do with Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) and the next “war” between Vecna and the Hawkins boys. Let’s hope Victor has his day in the sun.
