Anitta and Melody together for ‘Mil Vezes Remix’

Singer Anita launched last Thursday (4), A Thousand Times – Remixin collaboration with the singer melody. The track is a Portuguese version of Thousands of times, a hit released by Carioca in 2023. In addition to the sound, which takes influence from the piseiro, the song also comes with new verses. In fact, a video with unreleased lyrics was made available on Girl from Rio’s YouTube channel.

“I always thought ‘Mil Veces’ really suited Melody’s tone and style. And they loved it! This remix is ​​exciting, I’m happy it finally happened”confesses the artist of Honório Gurgel.

If in the original the song told the ups and downs of a toxic relationship, in the Portuguese remix the atmosphere is different. “The lyrics on the remix are light, fun, pure flirtation, you know? It’s already stuck in my head, I love it,” says Anita. The title of the song was also changed, translated into Portuguese. This change is also reflected in the sound of the remix, strongly influenced by the dance rhythms of the north-east.

Melody also celebrates her participation in the song: “It was very rewarding to see the result of the song, it was captivating. Anitta sent me a video of herself recording her voice and I found the way she directed the voice very emotional. I think my touch was really pop piseiro and also my personality in music, I think it fits Anitta’s style very well. The audience will love it!”

This is how Rick Assunção, producer responsible for the new version, explains: “Based on the original song, the remix brings references to the piseiro, which is a rhythm originally created in the north-east of the country. So we combined the two styles, turning it into ‘piseiro pop’“, he shares. He is also known for the works of Barões da Pisadinha and MC Danny.

Musicians Vitinho do Acordeon and Amaury Honorato (winner of a Grammy for his work with Marília Mendonça) also participated in the production, which also includes lyrics in Portuguese written by Bella Angel, Melody’s sister.
