Initially recorded in a live version, “Tento”, by Yohan Kisser with the participation of Sandy, gets a studio version this Friday (12)
Yohan Kisser launches, this Friday (12), the studio version for “I try”track initially recorded on your Live EP with the participation of Sandy. An unprecedented highlight among the five tracks on the EP, released last September, the song combines elements of rock and MPB, as well as pop, materialized by the guest’s voice.

“I left a song in the drawer that asked for a female voice to record. I came up with some possible names, but from the beginning, Sandy was ideal for me. When I made the invitation she agreed right away”, said Kisser exclusively to Rolling Stone Brazil.
Yohan explains that “the live performance was so special that I decided to write arrangements for brass and strings, imagining a studio version of the song”. In the new version, “Tento” gains a completely new arrangement for strings (SP City Quartet) and metals (Olympea Quintet). Furthermore, he also prepared new piano passages and new themes that unfold and return throughout the arrangement. “In other words, it is an entirely new version of that song released on Live EP.”
Regarding the decision to bring Sandy into the rocker’s universe, Yohan states that, for him, “rock is the most plural genre that exists, the father of all the pop we listen to today” – which would make the decision a natural choice:
“Looking at it from this point of view, what we did in ‘Tento’ has nothing paranormal. Even so, the public seems to have the need to label the songs: is it Pop, Rock or MPB? Is it in Portuguese or is it English? In this case from ‘Tento’, the answer is all the alternatives.”

The creative process of “Tento” involved the producer Guto Passosthe cover designer William Paiva (inspired by a painting by Yohan – above), the mixers John Milliet It is Dani Marianoand the mastering engineer Leonardo Nakabayashi. The track is now available, via ONErpmon digital platforms – listen below:
